Happy New Year 2015

It seems these are going to be the last photos I can show this year. Here are some shots from a fashion test shoot I did a while ago. It was so much fun to edit all in black and white this time. It's a different kind of joy to edit, with your focus mainly being on controlling the brightness, darkness and sharpness.

This coming year, I hope to continue realizing new aspects of photography in order to deepen my style.

Make up contest

A while ago, we collaborated with a talented MUA, Paula Lanzador, for her entry for a MUA contest. We ended up doing 4 different make up looks. Each one was a totally different theme and it was a pleasure to see such a variety in creativity.

I want to improve my retouching skills way more, but I need to accept the level that I am at right now.

Skin tone

I have been editing a lot of photos these days. One thing I am really focusing on now is skin tone. I've been trying to find a nice balance between the tones of brown and green. I'm still far off from the creating the image that I want to achieve, but I'm anticipating finding my own recipe for that some time soon :)

Test shoot with Hannah

The other day, I did a fashion test shoot with Hannah (Key Model Management). I focused on how simply I could feature her traits through various clothing styles. Hannah is really fast to pick up anything I mentioned about posing or expression and I was glad to be able to work with her.

Also, Heather, the MUA, is a multi talented artist. She is a model, photographer, MUA and headpiece designer! Thank you so much for your help with posing for this shoot. Also, always a big thank you to Michelle Davis, the stylist.

Test shoot

We did a test shoot today with Brenna. Her facial expressions and attitude were my favorite part, and I loved seeing her expression through the lens. I should collaborate again with her on a location shoot next time. As always, thanks to my awesome team of wardrobe stylist, Michelle Davis and MUA, Jocelyn Chen.  

Two New Editorials

We have done 2 fashion editorial photoshoots recently. Thanks to everybody for collaborating in these photoshoots. I really love the fact that fashion photography is a creation from many artists who have different specialities. I can respect everybody's talent and that reminds me of how much I love this creative environment :)

Our New Studio

Yesterday was our first session in our small studio downtown. A couple weeks ago we made the move from North Vancouver to Gastown. We prepared 2 different backdrops for this photoshoot, I'm glad they matched so well together. I will keep my eye out for nice backdrops in the city.

We had the pleasure of working with Emily Rose (Numa Models) for our first photoshoot in the new studio. Emily's potential is really high. I would love to work with her again on a more creative and elaborate session. Thanks to Yuki Lam for collaborating with us on this shoot. Also, thanks always to Michelle Davis for the styling. Gas town

We had a location shoot the other day with two new faces from Charles Stuart International Models. They were short sessions is Gas town, around an hour each. Even though they are fresh to the industry, I was able to feel lots of potential from them during the shoot. Looking forward to doing a studio session in the near future with these two. Also, many thanks to the stylist, Michelle Davis.
